The Presidency of the Specialized Working Group on the Fight against Transnational Corruption (GTCT) of the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS), exercised by the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Ecuador, its members, and the German Cooperation, through GIZ, in the context of the implementation – jointly with OLACEFS – of the regional project Strengthening External Control in the Environmental Area, make available to the public the document:<\/p>\n

\u00abMethodological Tools for the Governmental External Control of the Legal Export of Species of Wild Flora and Fauna, with a Focus on the Prevention of Transnational Corruption.\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n

This document presents the results of research conducted in 2020 on the susceptibility of corruption in legal export processes of species; which was based on the case of shark bycatch in Ecuador.
\nThe text aims to support the planning and execution of audits focused on this area by providing two key tools: the first to expose the risks of corruption that still arise in the legal processes of species commercialization and the second to identify external stakeholders that could support both SAIs and environmental authorities for adequate wildlife management.<\/p>\n
