Last Friday, June 12, the handover session for the OLACEFS Executive Secretariat took place, during which the Superior Audit Office of the Federation of Mexico formally transferred its duties to the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile.

This process takes place within the framework of the agreements reached at the extraordinary meeting of the OLACEFS Governing Board, held virtually on May 19, 2026, where Agreement 1751/05/2026 was adopted, approving the designation of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile as the interim Executive Secretariat of our Regional Organisation, to ensure continuity in its functions until December 2028.

The ceremony was attended in person by delegates from the OLACEFS Presidency, held by the SAI of Brazil; the incoming Executive Secretariat, held by the SAI of Chile; and the outgoing Executive Secretariat, held by the SAI of Mexico. In this context, the commitment of both Supreme Audit Institutions to an orderly and transparent transition—in accordance with current institutional provisions—was highlighted, including the handover of the administrative, financial, and accounting information necessary for the proper functioning of the Executive Secretariat.
