GTG Keynote Speech Series Ends Successfully

On Wednesday, October 5, the Working Group on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination (GTG) closed the Keynote Speech Series “Hands on Deck: Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination Policy.”

In this last session on the axis of Audit Functions, the participation of the President of the GTG and Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile, Jorge Bermúdez, who gave the opening words and reminded us of each of the speeches held in this Series since May, highlighting the importance of the role of SAIs in the integration of the gender perspective within their institutions and functions.

After the President’s presentation, the panelist Petra Schirnhofer, IDI-INTOSAI Gender Focal Point, and the panelist João Ribeiro dos Santos Filho from the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU – Brazil) proceeded with the discussion and shared with the audience the good practices implemented by their institutions in the integration of the gender perspective in the audit functions.

As in the other talks, they interacted with the public through the Mentimeter platform where they were consulted on three questions:

  1. Do you know what a Coordinated Audit consists of?
  2. Do you consider it necessary for SAIs to audit care programs for women, people of sexual and gender diversity, people with disabilities, the elderly, indigenous people, people of African descent, migrants, and refugees?
  3. On what topic would you like to see a Coordinated Audit conducted at OLACEFS with a gender perspective?
