The National and International GTG Workshop “Applying what is Learned: Tools for Mainstreaming the Gender Approach” ends successfully

On November 15 and 16, the Working Group on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination (GTG) held the National Workshop “Applying what is Learned: Tools for Mainstreaming the Gender Approach” in the city of Quito, Ecuador, for staff of the Office of the Comptroller General of the State of Ecuador.

On the first day of the workshop for staff of the SAI of Ecuador, 25 participants were able to contribute, during two intense days, to activities and dynamics related to the issues of gender, inclusion, and diversity. It is worth mentioning that the people selected were strategically chosen by the Office of the Comptroller General of the State of Ecuador since this is the only SAI that has more than 200 people trained in the course “Introduction to Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination” of OLACEFS, which is now mandatory for all staff of the SAI of Ecuador.

On the second day, held on November 17 and 18, the same workshop was replicated, but for staff of the SAI members of OLACEFS. The participating countries were: Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay. In this instance, it was possible to verify and confirm the great commitment of SAIs to the mission of mainstreaming the gender approach in their institutions, appealing to the need of citizens to have more respectful, inclusive, and fair institutions.

The GTG congratulates all the participants of the national and international day for their proactivity, motivation, and commitment in these matters, and invites those who have not completed the course “Introduction to Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination” to register through the Educational Management System (EMS) of the CCC, where they can also access and learn about the agenda of this course. Contact your SAI’s training link, and don’t miss out on this course and its upcoming activities. If in doubt, you can write to [email protected].
