BLOG OLACEFS

Welcome to the COVID blog!

We gladly welcome you to this initiative promoted by the Executive Secretariat of OLACEFS.

The pandemic that afflicts us is a challenge on a global scale to which the SAIs of Latin America and the Caribbean and OLACEFS must respond creatively and proactively, contributing to the proper use of public resources so that we can overcome this challenge together.

Under the logic of adaptation to the new times, we have created the COVID Blog, where weekly -every Thursday- we will have an entry talking about the value of control and its relationship with the pandemic. In this way, we make available a tool that strengthens international cooperation, allows us to share knowledge and foster new forms of participation in public opinion. We look forward to your contributions and weekly visits.

A hug, take care and as far as possible stay home.

From May until October, on the first Wednesday of each month, at 11:00 a.m. in Santiago de Chile (UTC-4), the Working Group on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination (GTG) of the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS) will hold a keynote speech series entitled “HANDS ON DECK: GENDER EQUALITY AND NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY.” Each meeting will have high-level panelists and moderators, who will present the axes that make up the OLACEFS Policy on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination, seeking to deepen its dimensions and recommendations. The purpose of these speeches is to provide the necessary guidelines for the implementation of the Policy. This is why the importance of each of the axes (Ethical Culture, Inclusion, Sexual/Workplace Harassment, Organizational Culture, People Management, and Audit Functions) will be highlighted both for the operation of the SAI and for the achievement of its tasks in a successful way, allowing the gender approach to permeate within the institution in a transversal way. This coming Wednesday, May 4 will begin the series with the axis of Ethical Culture as the precursor of this great activity. On this occasion, we will have the participation of Tamara Loyola, Integrity Officer of SAI Chile, and Marco Pérez, Network Manager of the Alliance for Integrity (GIZ) in Mexico and the Andean Region, who is Globally responsible for gender. Don’t miss out and sign up for this activity here
