International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women: Launch of the Working Group on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination

Every November 25th, we commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and this year as an organization we want to be part of that commemoration to present to the public the new Working Group of the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS), on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination.

Five years after the adoption of the 2030 Agenda, which has “leaving no one behind” as its cornerstone, and one of the Sustainable Development Goals being to empower women and girls and achieve gender equality, OLACEFS has recently created the aforementioned Working Group with the objective of mainstreaming the gender perspective in the organization and its member entities.

We invite you to tune in this Wednesday, November 25 at 15: 00 (GMT), on the Microsoft Teams platform, to the webinar that will discuss the systemic violence that affects society, addressing this phenomenon and explaining it in a way that can analyze its differential effects on women and girls. For this, we will have the presence of Minister Diana Marcos, Minister of the Court of Accounts of Uruguay, the presentation of Dr. Pablo Celi de la Torre, Comptroller General of the Republic of Ecuador; the presentations of Cecilia Pérez Díaz, Director of the Comprehensive Program for Childhood and Adolescence (PIAA-UdeC). Academic and Researcher, former Minister of Planning and SERNAM and Maria-Noel Vaeza, Regional Director of UN Women; and, with the moderation of Osvaldo Rudloff, Executive Coordinator of OLACEFS.
